TONEY, Ala. — The Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue announced on Tuesday that it has received a grant to purchase three Sensit Gold G2 gas detection instruments.
This new equipment will enhance the department's ability to protect the community from potential gas leaks, especially as Huntsville Utilities expands its natural gas services in northwest Madison County.
Heath Jones, president of Toney VFD, stated, “The Toney VFD is committed to expanding the level of services that we provide to our community. Our district continues to receive new natural gas services, and until now, we did not have the appropriate equipment to detect a leak. This grant will allow us to ensure the safety of our residents and respond more effectively to emergencies.”
The Sensit Gold G2 instruments will help Toney VFD quickly and accurately detect natural gas during hazardous situations.
